Richie
Very gentle soul.
One gentle little rabbit. One bright pink parrot. Two completely different personalities — and somehow they simply chose each other.
← Back to Issue 01Nobody needed to introduce Richie and Pi to the idea of friendship.
They worked that part out themselves.
Different species. Different personalities. Different ways of seeing the world.
And still, they found a way to understand each other.
Their story became one of the warmest stories of our first issue — a reminder that friendship does not need to make sense to anyone else.
If someone had tried to design the perfect pair of best friends, they probably would not have started here.
A rabbit and a parrot?
One quiet and gentle. One colourful and expressive.
One with long soft ears. One with wings.
Yet friendship has never been especially interested in following rules.
Richie and Pi simply became part of each other’s world.
They stay close. They share quiet moments. They explore together.
And sometimes they just sit beside one another as though this was always the most natural thing in the world.
Their days are filled with sunshine, white walls, flowers and the blue sea beyond. For Richie and Pi, even an ordinary day can feel like a little Mediterranean adventure.
Maybe that is what makes their friendship so easy to love.
There is no reason Richie and Pi should need to be alike.
Friendship does not ask whether you have paws or wings. It does not care whether you are quiet or noisy. It does not check whether you look the same.
Sometimes all that matters is feeling safe beside someone.
Choosing them again tomorrow — and knowing they will probably still be right there.
Fresh greens, sunshine and your best friend beside you. Some lunches really do have everything.
Pi may be the brighter, louder-looking half of this friendship, but there is something wonderfully gentle in the way he stays close to Richie.
Beside him. Leaning against him. Watching over him.
Their bond turned Pi into an unexpected little protector and one of Richie’s closest companions.
It is affectionate, funny, slightly unexpected — and completely theirs.
So this is Richie and Pi.
One little rabbit. One bright pink parrot.
A gentle heart. A huge personality.
Peaceful days by the sea. Shared lunches. Adventures. Quiet moments.
And a friendship nobody could have planned.
Maybe we do not always choose who will become important to us. Sometimes we simply meet. We stay.
And somehow, without anyone deciding it, two completely different lives become one story.
That is exactly why Richie and Pi belong on the first PETS & DOGUE cover.
